ATHENA represents the 'MASCULINE' (Animus) aspect of a woman's soul. (Artemis & Hestia too belong in this category). Personify independent, active, non-relationship aspects of women’s psychology…. Represent inner drives in women to develop talents, pursue interests, solve problems, compete with others, express themselves articulately in words, or through art forms, put their surroundings in order, or lead contemplative lives… This goddess aspect is that part of woman that is unowned by or ‘un-penetrated’ by man-that is untouched by her need for a man or need to be validated by him, that exists wholly separate from him, in her own right.. Opportunities for Growth: Women with this strong archetype, are called to develop their ‘anima’ (ie feminine-aspect of the female psyche). They can develop more ‘feminine’ (ANIMA) attributes such as receptivity, vulnerability, intimacy and nurturing in order to become more balanced, whole and fulfilled in their lives.
HERA represents the 'FEMININE' (Anima) aspect of a woman's soul. (Persephone & Demeter too belong in this category).Personify archetypes that represent the traditional roles of women-wife, mother & daughter. They are relationship-oriented goddesses, whose identity & well-being depend on having a significant relationship. They express the need for women of affiliation…In their mythologies, these three goddesses were raped, abducted or humiliated by male gods. Each suffered when an attachment was broken or dishonored. Opportunities for Growth: Women with this strong archetype may need to develop their ‘animus’ (ie masculine-aspect of the female psyche). Such women would be wise learn to stay focused, be more objective and assertive in order to become more balanced, whole and fulfilled in their lives.
APHRODITE represents “La femme Inspiratrice” or “Muse” has the potential to transform us and others around us.
Although has some characteristics of the ANIMUS & ANIMA goddesses, she is in a category all her own. She represents free-love, artistic inspiration, sensuality etc..Opportunities for Growth: can develop more goddess qualities (in either direction) depending on which directions you want to grow.
